MUNICH (Germany) - Club allegiances will be put aside for the cause of national team pride for a number of teammates who will face off in the final window of the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers.
The final 13 spots at this summer's continental spectacle are up for grabs and a number of players will be going against club teammates in crucial games which could end up deciding who reaches the tournament or not.
You will find all the latest squad announcements in our Roster Tracker.
Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz: Croatia vs France
Luka Samanic (CRO) vs Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot (FRA)
The massive Croatia versus France matchup - much more important for the former - will have a Spanish twist as Luka Samanic of Croatia will be going against his Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz teammate Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot of France. The Frenchman has been with the club since the beginning of the season while Samanic joined Baskonia at the beginning of 2025. Both are in the top four in team scoring in the EuroLeague.
San Pablo Burgos: Hungary vs Iceland
Gyorgy Goloman (HUN) vs Jon Axel Gudmundsson (ISL)
Fans of the leaders of Spain's second division San Pablo Burgos will have a special interest in the Hungary versus Iceland game, which features two of the club's top players. Gudmundsson leads San Pablo in assists and Goloman averages 9.1 points per game. The added spice is Hungary needing to win by at least five points to stay in the hunt for a spot in FIBA EuroBasket 2025.
Baxi Manresa: Spain vs Belgium
Mario Saint Supery (ESP) vs Retin Obasohan (BEL)
Manresa are one of the biggest surprises in the Spanish league, and two of the reasons for that are Belgian star Obasohan and Spanish star prospect Saint-Supery. Obasohan ranks third on the team in scoring while the 18-year-old talent is contributing 7.3 points and 2.0 assists in the Spanish league. Who will reign supreme at the national team level?
Baxi Manresa: Latvia vs Spain
Marcis Steinbergs (LAT) vs Mario Saint-Supery (ESP)
Another Manresa matchup has 23-year-old Latvian Steinbergs going up against Saint-Supery. Both countries have already locked up their spots in the EuroBasket but bragging rights will be up for grabs in this one, especially after Latvia beat the reigning European champs in Window 1.
Rio Breogan: Latvia vs Spain
Arturs Kurucs (LAT) vs Eric Vila (ESP)
The Latvia versus Spain game will have another club showdown between Kurucs of the Baltic side and Spaniard Vila. These two have only been teammates since mid January when Kurucs arrived from Murcia. Vila meanwhile has not played for Spain since the February 2023 window for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers.
Murcia: Sweden vs Montenegro
Simon Birgander & Ludvig Hakanson (SWE) vs Nemanja Radovic, Marko Todorovic & Jonah Radebaugh (MNE)
Speaking of Murcia, the Sweden versus Montenegro clash will be like a family gathering of the Spanish club with five players from the team facing off. Sweden have the duo of Simon Birgander and Ludvig Hakanson while Montenegro's team includes three Murcia players: Nemanja Radovic, Marko Todorovic and Jonah Radebaugh. Those are five of the club's top nine scorers. Radovic however was the only one of these five players to play in the first game in the Qualifiers, which Montenegro dominated 95-70.
JL Bourg: France vs Bosnia and Herzegovina
Frederic Fauthoux (FRA) vs Xavier Castaneda (BIH)
This matchup is a little different than the others since Fauthoux is the French national team coach and is also the head coach at JL Bourg. And it just so happens that Bosnia and Herzegovina's naturalized guard Castaneda is the club's leading scorer. Fauthoux will certainly have some valuable insight in how to slow him down.
Dinamo Sassari: Poland vs Lithuania
Michal Sokolowski (POL) vs Eimantas Bendzius (LTU)
Both Poland and Lithuania are already secured spots in the EuroBasket but there will be club bragging rights at stake in this game too. Forwards Sokolowski and Bendzius both average in double figures for the Italian side Sassari.
GTK Gliwice: Slovakia vs Latvia
Mario Ihring (SVK) vs Martins Laksa (LAT)
GTK Gliwice rank second to last in the Polish league but that is not due to a lack of effort of Slovakian Ihring and Laksa of Latvia. Ihring leads the team in scoring and assists. Laksa meanwhile ranks second in scoring and has buried 41 percent of his three-pointers. They will be going against each other this time around.
