Bosnia and Herzegovina made no mistake of locking up a spot at the Final Round

Homecourt advantage goes up a notch when Bosnia and Herzegovina are playing in front of their fans. Expect them to arrive in thousands at FIBA EuroBasket 2025, too.

TUZLA (Bosnia and Herzegovina) - The fans carried Bosnia and Herzegovina to a memorable win over Croatia, earning the tiebreaker over their neighbors. They did the same against Cyprus, too, helping the nation to their FIBA EuroBasket 2025 ticket in February.

The key for Adis Beciragic's men was to finish ahead of Croatia, and thanks to that aforementioned tiebreaker, they ensured they will be qualifying alongside France in the group.

Bosnia and Herzegovina opened up their campaign at 1-1 in February 2024, and when they lost the first game in the November 2024 window to Croatia, they had their backs up against the wall. But a 20-point win over Croatia in Sarajevo meant they were back in the driver's seat.

Dzanan Musa and his teammates made no mistake against Cyprus, converting their first match point into a crucial win in Tuzla.

Top of the world feeling for Dzanan Musa

Something special happens when Dzanan Musa puts on that jersey with BIH emblazoned on his chest. The Real Madrid star led the nation to another qualification, with him in the lineup coach Beciragic has one of the tallest and physically strongest lineups in all of Europe.

Amar Alibegovic, Edin Atic, Miralem Halilovic, Aleksandar Lazic and Kenan Kamenjas are exactly the kind of guys every coach wants, putting their bodies on the line and leaving their egos outside of the locker room.

Amar Gegic was also in the lineup in the first four games, but an injury prevented him from taking part in the February 2025 window. Expect him in the lineup in August and September, giving BIH a 200cm/6ft 7in tall option to handle point guard duties.

    History

    11
    appearances

Bosnia and Herzegovina were there in 2022 too, getting two wins in five games, but not advancing as Lithuania had the head-to-head going their way in Group B in Cologne, Germany.

BIH finished 18th in their 10th FIBA EuroBasket appearance, still unable to repeat their best result, from their maiden event back in 1993.

Dino Bilalovic led them to eighth spot back then as the tournament top scorer with 24.6 points per game to his name. Since the format changed in 2015, they have not made the Round of 16 yet.

    Best finish: 8th in 1993
