MUNICH (Germany) - The 2024-25 EuroLeague Women season is almost ready to tip-off and with the recent Qualifiers now complete, it's almost go-time for 16 clubs located across the continent. Here's a quick-fire guide to everything you need to know ahead of what is looking destined to be another absorbing Regular Season.
What is EuroLeague Women?
An incredibly prestigious competition that represents the top tier of women's basketball in Europe. Packed with some of the best women's ballers on the planet, the tournament has a rich history that stretches back decades.
The next seven months will see fans on the edge of their seats as a monumental and entertaining battle takes place to determine which of the competing clubs will be the last team standing. Whoever completes that mission will be crowned EuroLeague Women 2025 champions.
Who is playing?
There are 16 teams competing in the 2024-25 edition - 13 of which gained direct entry into the Regular Season as a result of the Club and Country rankings, while the final three spots were determined in the Qualifiers. The Regular Season consists of four groups of four as part of the aforementioned new competition system.

Who are the reigning champions?
Fenerbahce Alagoz Holding landed the silverware for a second successive year back in April, 2024, as they fought off first-time finalists and surprise package Villeneuve d'Ascq LM in the title game.
What's new this season?
The format of the competition has been changed and enhanced for 2024-25, with the Regular Season now split into two.
Initially competing in four groups of four during the First Round, the bottom-placed sides will exit and move to EuroCup Women, while the other 12 clubs will then continue to the Second Round,
In what will undoubtedly be a landmark campaign, we will get to see the introduction of innovative Play-ins and a first ever Final Six, where the eventual champion will be determined.
When are the games played?
Games are typically played on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday throughout the season. The Regular Season commences in October, with the Final Four scheduled for April 11-13 to curtail the season - with the Second Round and Play-Offs in between.

What are the EuroLeague Women Awards?
The EuroLeague Women Awards, launched in 2019 by FIBA Europe, are a prestigious recognition of outstanding achievements and contributions within women's basketball in Europe's flagship club competition.
For the past two years, a Gala has been held during the Final Four weekend to recognize and celebrate the award winners. The Awards are headlined by the Most Valuable Player and also features the All-EuroLeague Women First Team, Defensive Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year and Coach of the Year.
