2015 champions Villeneuve d'Ascq LM are back in the Final 10 years on

Who will be crowned EuroCup Women 2025 champions?

MUNICH (Germany) - The EuroCup Women Finals 2025 will see rookies BAXI Ferrol fighting to engrave yet another new name on the famous trophy, while Villeneuve d'Ascq LM are bidding to become only the fourth club in competition history to lift the title more than once. Last year, London Lions raised the silverware for the first time and became the 17th different winner in just 20 editions of the famous competition.

Now Ferrol will look to further underline this incredible track record of opportunity, while Villeneuve try to add to the title that they proudly won in 2015.

Played over two legs, Ferrol will have home advantage first on Wednesday March 26 at 20:00 CET, with the return game taking place a week later in Villeneuve on Wednesday April 2 at 20:30 CET.

BAXI Ferrol vs Villeneuve d'Ascq LM

Form guide: Incredibly, Ferrol started off in the Qualifiers and didn't even know if they would reach the main phase. Yet here they are as one of the last two teams standing, having won a stunning 13 of 16 outings since their EuroCup Women debut back in September. In the Spanish league, they have a 13-12 record and lie in 9th place. Villeneuve started the season playing in EuroLeague Women where they struggled to find a win and after four losses, found themselves landing in EuroCup Women. Since transferring competitions, they have caught fire and won six of their eight outings. Domestically, they are also in 10th place and have a 6-14 record in France. Key matchup: The backcourt battles could be epic and there is a lot of excitement around the potential for Angela Mataix of Ferrol and Carla Leite of Villeneuve to both light it up in a big way. The former has caught fire spectacularly this season with some truly blockbuster performances - most famously a 32-point effort against number one seeds DVTK HUN-THERM which led to their elimination.

Carla Leite has shone with Villeneuve d'Ascq LM and is one of the most exciting young players in Europe

Mataix leads her team in scoring and assists, so can expect a lot of defensive attention from Villeneuve. She may be ready to guard Leite, the French rising star who has continued to build her reputation as one of the best young players in Europe. She is also adept at putting points on the board in a flash and is averaging almost 17.0 points per outing, so if she gets rolling, she will be tough to slow down

The BAXI Ferrol bench has delivered in a big way this season

X-factor: There is barely anything to separate these two teams when it comes to the numbers. You can pour over every statistical category and there is hardly anything between them both - suggesting this could be an epic Finals lying in wait. There's only one standout area and that is the bench power that Ferrol can lean on. They average a super near 30 points per game from that source, which is 9 points more than Villeneuve usually get.

Shavonte Zellous celebrating the 2024 EuroLeague Women title in Ekaterinburg

Did you know? Shavonte Zellous is the only player in the Finals to have previously won a European trophy. The 38-year-old was crowned EuroLeague Women champion in 2014 when featuring for Turkish giants, Galatasaray.
