Brilliant Borkowska bags MVP honors for October

    The Polish center has lit it up in the first month of the new campaign.

    MUNICH (Germany) - Kamila Borkowska has been recognized for her phenomenal performances during the first four weeks of EuroCup Women action by being named as the October MVP.

    The center has averaged a spectacular season double-double so far of 17.0 points and 13.3 rebounds per game and is number one in the competition for performance efficiency with an incredible average valuation of 30.8.

    Also leading the way in blocked shots with a superb 3.3 per game, Borkowska has proven the centerpiece of what has been a perfect run in the tournament for MB Zaglebie Sosnowiec.

    The current Group I leaders have won every game to date and it has usually been due to the work of their star center.

    They won their first matchup of the campaign 88-55 against Kangoeroes Mechelen, with Borkowska racking up 12 points, 15 rebounds and a fabulous five blocks.

    The second victory saw them stroll past TTT RIga 74-54 with Borkowska contributing 16 points and 16 rebounds - plus another 3 blocked shots.

    The penultimate game of the month saw Sosnowiec sneak past BDS Dinamo Sassari 70-62 as she registered 21 points, 8 boards and 3 more blocks.

    Wrapping up a fabulous body of work, Borkowska added 19 points and 14 rebounds as her team only just edged out Kangoeroes Mechelen 81-79 to maintain their flawless start.
