MIAMI (United States) – The FIBA Youth Development Program (YDP) continues its work throughout the Americas region, this time at the U17 South American Championships for both boys and girls which took place in Colombia in November.
The 204 young athletes in both tournaments were able to get their anthropometric measurements which included height, reach, wingspan, and their hand measurements. This data will be shared with their respective national federations.
This initiative is part of the program's strategy, which aims to build a regional database to identify and evaluate outstanding young talent in the Americas.
The FIBA U-17 South American Championship was held in the city of Valledupar where Argentina, Venezuela and Brazil, in that order, took the three places on the podium.
The girls’ tournament took place in Bucaramanga, with Brazil, Colombia and Argentina winning the gold, silver and bronze medals, respectively.
