    International coaching forum set for FIBA U19 WWC in Madrid

    MADRID (Spain) - FIBA are delighted to be organizing a highly anticipated international coaching forum as part of the flagship FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup event in Spain.

    MADRID (Spain) - FIBA are delighted to be organizing a highly anticipated international coaching forum as part of the flagship FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup event in Spain. Split into two sessions, the forum will involve six distinguished speakers sharing their knowledge and expertise on various topics.

    On Saturday July 22, guests at the event will get insight from Great Britain head coach Chema Buceta, who recently oversaw his team's campaign at the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2023 in Ljubljana. He is a renowned expert in sport psychology. 

    Michael MacKay is High Performance Manager for Canada Basketball and has a wealth of knowledge and will be focusing on physical play in the women's game and ensuring it is legal, safe and effective.

    There will also be a session from Clarence Perez Diaz, a Sports Scientist who will discuss issues around the biological and physiological aspects of female athletes.

    On Sunday July 23, Team USA Assistant and renowned former player Delisha Milton Jones who won Olympic and FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup titles will lead the discussion on transiting from the amateur level to professional basketball. 

    Anna Montanana

    Anna Montanana is a Spanish basketball coach and revered former national team player who will focus on the intriguing subject of the difference in female and male post play.

    Finally, Alejandro Vaquera is the FIBA Global Referees Fitness Coordinator and a Basketball Coach who will look at speed training for female players.
