TISSOT MVP Clark headlines All-Star Five at the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup

DEBRECEN (Hungary) - Caitlin Clark has cause for a double celebration after she added to the joy of winning the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup title with her American teammates by being named TISSOT MVP of the top global youth event.

Clark finished the tournament as the leading scorer for her country with 14.3 points per game, as well as averaging 5.3 rebounds and 5.6 assists. She is joined in the All-Star Five by her teammate Sonia Citron who was also highly influential and posted a 13.7 point, 7.3 board and 2.9 assist game average.

Meanwhile, Jade Melbourne of Australia had to ultimately settle for a silver medal but she was instrumental in the Gems making back-to-back title games. She racked up 12.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.

Host-nation Hungary made history as they scooped the country's first-ever medal, with Julia Boros providing the main thrust of an excellent campaign that catapulted them to the third step of the podium. She averaged 15 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists per outing. 

Mali were on fire for much of the competition and can reflect on a historic top-four finish, largely fuelled by the exceptional Sika Kone. The powerful forward was a handful for every opposing defense and finished as the tournament's leading scorer and rebounder with an eye-popping 19.7 points and 14.8 rebounds per game.
