Bueckers crowned TISSOT MVP to headline All-Star Five
BANGKOK (Thailand) - There was double joy for Paige Bueckers of USA after she followed up taking a gold medal at the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup 2019 with TISSOT MVP honors.
BANGKOK (Thailand) - There was double joy for Paige Bueckers of USA after she followed up taking a gold medal at the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup 2019 with TISSOT MVP honors.
The guard starred throughout the competition and had a key role in USA overcoming Australia in a dramatic and memorable overtime Final. Bueckers led the tournament in assists with 5.4 per game, as well as topping the efficiency chart for her team and averaging 11.6 points per game.
She was joined on the All-Star Five by her USA colleague Rhyne Howard who hit two deal-makers in the tight Semi-Final game with Belgium and the thrilling title game against the Gems. She led the winners in scoring with 13.1 points per game, also harvesting 5.1 rebounds per game.
Alexandra Fowler was recognized for her relentless work with Australia and added an All-Star Five spot to her silver medal. She recorded a near tournament double-double of 9 points and 10 rebounds, while also leading her team in efficiency.

Lola Pendande of Spain got the nod after she catapulted Spain to the third podium step. She was the driving force behind her country taking bronze with a deserved win over Belgium and was the leader for Spain in points, rebounds, blocks and efficiency across the tournament, averaging 11.9 points and 8.3 boards per game.
Billie Massey of Belgium completed the lineup after amassing some eye-popping numbers. She claimed a competition double-double of 14.7 points and 13.4 rebounds per game, while her 2.3 blocks per outing and efficiency made her the tournament leader in both categories.
