    CAIRO (FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup 2017) - RJ Barrett and Abu Kigab not only guided Canada to their first-ever FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup title but they were also teammates on the All-Star Five of the tournament.

    Barrett was awarded the MVP Award offered by Tissot as he was the tournament's leading scorer with 21.6 points per game to go with 8.3 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.7 steals. Barrett, just three weeks removed from his 17th birthday, collected 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists in Canada's 79-60 win over Italy in the final.

    Kigab has been a huge part of Canada's first-ever victory in the U19 Quarter-Finals and the first time the North Americans got through the Semi-Finals. He collected 12 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists in the final and averaged 14.7 points, 10.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists.

    The other three All-Star Five selections were Italy teammates Lorenzo Bucarelli and Tommaso Oxilia and Payton Pritchard of the United States.

    Bucarelli averaged 7.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.0 assists, and he was also the heart of the Italian team as its captain. Oxilia averaged 12.9 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists. Pritchard, meanwhile, collected 9 points a game to go with 3.1 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.6 steals. Pritchard stepped up later in the tournament with double digit scoring in three of the USA's last four games.
