Lineup confirmed for FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2024 in Türkiye
ISTANBUL (Türkiye) - The path to the trophy for the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2024 has been determined as the groups for the seventh edition of the event were confirmed in Wednesday’s draw.

The 16 teams were divided into four groups of four teams each.
The results of the draw are as follows:
Group A: Spain, Lithuania, Philippines and Puerto Rico
Group B: China, USA, France and Guinea
Group C: Argentina, Türkiye, New Zealand and Italy
Group D: Egypt, Germany, Canada and Australia
All 16 teams participating in the event will advance to the competition's Final Phase with a single-elimination format in place from the Round of 16 onwards.
The teams from Group A will face teams from Group B, based on standings within these groups (1st vs 4th - 2nd vs 3rd) and teams from Group C will face teams from Group D.
The defending champions USA will be shooting for their seventh consecutive U17 World Cup crown. The Americans have not only won each of the previous trophies since the event was launched in 2010, but they have not suffered a single loss in the competition’s history.
The draw was performed by Türkiye's National Team great Kerem Tunceri. FIBA President Sheikh Saud Ali Al Thani, FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis, FIBA Europe President Jorge Garbajosa, Mr. Hidayet Turkoglu, President of the Turkish Basketball Federation and Mr. Osman Askin Bak, Turkish Minister of Youth and Sports, attended the event.
The 2024 edition of the tournament will take place from June 29 - July 7 in Istanbul, Türkiye.
