SANTA FE (FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2018) - A number of players stepped up in the Quarter-Finals of the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2018, as we recap the top 5 individual performances of the phase.

    In no particular order:

     1) Tory San Antonio - Puerto Rico

Tory San Antonio had his best game of the tournament, by a long way. Entering the game with a total of 27 points across four games and not breaking into double digits even once, San Antonio exploded for a 30-point outing, missing just 4 shots (14-of-18 from the floor) and adding 6 rebounds, 5 steals, 3 assists and a block.

    2) Malcolm Cazalon - France

The first 30-point outing of the Quarter-Finals came from France's Malcolm  Cazalon who continued his breakout tournament. Cazalon went 11-of-20 from field, along with 8 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists and a block, spearheading the French side's big 3 - along with Killian Hayes and Theo Maledon - as they defeated Turkey 86-70 to advance to the Semi-Finals.

    3) Luke Jackson - Australia

Though Australia would ultimately fall short to Canada, it was Luke Jackson's work on the glass that kept it close throughout. Jackson finished with a tournament-high 20 rebounds, adding 12 points and a block, as he continued his impressive run of double-doubles.

    4) Andre Curbelo - Puerto Rico

We asked the question who would be the next player at the U17 World Cup to get a triple double and Curbelo reminded us he is still a threat to pull it off. Curbelo went for 20 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists, controlling the game for the Puerto Ricans. He went 9-of-15 from the floor, and chucked in 3 steals for good measure.

    5) Jalen Green - USA

After a tournament that has seen the USA largely share the load, Jalen Green took center stage in his side's 126-52 win over the Croatians. Green finished with 27 points, but even more impressively, had a period in the fourth quarter that saw him score 21 points over a 4 minute and 37 second stretch. He added 2 steals, 1 rebound and 1 assist  without a turnover as the Americans advanced to the Semi-Finals.
