    ZARAGOZA (2016 FIBA U17 World Championship) - Three-time reigning champions United States finished off their preparations for the 2016 FIBA U17 World Championship by easing past hosts Spain 86-57 in the final friendly game. 

    Wendell Carter Jr. collected 17 points and 10 rebounds while Carte’Are Gordon and Gary Trent Jr. both added 10 points for the Americans, who out-rebounded Spain 54-30 and kept the host team to just 26 percent shooting.

    Spain were paced by Sergi Martinez with 14 points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals, and Osas Ehigiator chipped in 10 points in the loss. 

    United States will open their defence of the U17 Worlds title against Chinese Taipei in Group A, which also features Egypt and Turkey

    Spain meanwhile tip off their tournament against debutants Mali in Group B, which also includes Argentina and Lithuania
