Early allocation of groups approved for FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025

MUNICH (Germany) - The early allocation of groups to FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025 hosts has been approved by the FIBA Europe Executive Committee.

MUNICH (Germany) - The early allocation of groups to FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025 hosts has been approved by the FIBA Europe Executive Committee.

This decision follows a request from Czechia, Germany, Greece, and Italy, who sought more time to arrange logistics for the event. After a thorough review, FIBA Europe found it beneficial for organizational purposes with no negative impact on the competition.

The early allocation mirrors a similar procedure used for FIBA EuroBasket 2025 hosts in June 2023.

The approved group allocations are as follows:

    Group A: Piraeus, Greece
    Group B: Bologna, Italy
    Group C: Brno, Czechia
    Group D: Hamburg, Germany

The road to the flagship event is already underway after the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers commenced last November with the first of three windows. The 36 participating nations will resume their qualification battles in November 2024 and February 2025, when the final 16-team field will be confirmed.

The Final Round of FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025 will be played from June 18-29, 2025, with the draw, which will determine the composition of the groups, set to take place in March.
