Gabby Williams back on board with France for EuroBasket ticket push

PARIS (France) - Gabby Williams is in line to step back in to lead France to a place at the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2023 after being named on the roster for the last qualifying window next month.

PARIS (France) - Gabby Williams is in line to step back in to lead France to a place at the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2023 after being named on the roster for the last qualifying window next month.

The standout for Les Bleues at the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2022 in Sydney, Williams missed the Qualifiers action in November. While her team never missed a beat and picked up two big wins, having last year's EuroLeague Women Final Four MVP returning is a huge boost.

She was named as part of a 14-strong squad who will be tasked with sealing the deal when they face Lithuania and Finland on the road on February 9 and 12 respectively.

As well as the presence of Williams, Marine Johannes and Alexia Chartereau are included, having combined for 40 points in the vibrant victory over Ukraine during the last game. The EuroLeague Women talent on show is extensive with the likes of Valeriane Vukosavljevic, Iliana Rupert, Sarah Michel and Marine Fauthoux all on board.

France will be eager to make sure they cement a place at this year's flagship event in Slovenia and Israel having made a staggering five consecutive appearances in the title game.
