MUNICH (Germany) - The national team of North Macedonia will not participate in the February 2021 window of the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2021 Qualifiers.
FIBA Regional Office Europe was informed by the National Federation about critical COVID-19-related disruptions to preparations, which will prevent the team from travelling and taking part in the Qualifiers bubble in Riga, Latvia.
As a result, the games involving North Macedonia will not be played as scheduled and the status of those games will be decided by the relevant disciplinary bodies at a later stage.
One of seven approved locations for the upcoming window, Riga is hosting the protected environment tournaments for Groups F and I. The remaining games in Riga are not impacted and are set to take place as planned.
FIBA Regional Office Europe will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation in Europe on a daily basis and communicate further updates regarding the competition when necessary.
