Six European spots taken for 2020 OQT's

BELGRADE (Serbia) - The six tickets on offer at the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019 for next February's FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament's have been punched.

It was Belgium and Sweden who snapped up the last spots to follow Serbia, Spain, Great Britain and France, who had already secured their respective places with their wins during the Quarter-Finalists.

Sweden celebrated a hard-fought 57-52 victory against Russia as they showed an impressive mental toughness to recover from being blown out by Serbia in their previous outing.

Frida and Elin Eldebrink brought the noise, with the former making a clutch shot and Elin starring with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Kalis Loyd also came up with a timely 16 points and perfectly summarized the mood.

She stated: "I am very happy as we always had this as a goal for two years and my head is in the clouds right now."

Meanwhile despite a slow start, Belgium swept their way past Hungary with a 72-56 success that was founded on a shared 34 points from Julie Allemand and Kim Mestdagh.

 With Marjorie Carpreaux also bringing the entertainment, the legendary Ann Wauters was quick to explain how the Cats reached their goal, but emerge with much to think about.

"We came here with a goal to get the ticket for the OQT and now have it," smiled Wauters.

"We are excited and relieved. We have learned a lot as a team. In the last two summers everything was smooth and in this tournament it wasn't. We have learned a lot including how to handle both the pressure and some criticism," she concluded.
