DR Congo qualify for the 2023 Women's AfroBasket after wins over Gabon

The Congolese closed the Zone 4 Women's AfroBasket Qualifiers with yet another big margin win (101-53).
They also won the rebounding battle 61-50 rebounds, while outclassing their opponents in assists (24-7), and dominating the defensive game with 20 steals against Gabon's 6.
This regional qualifier gathered only two nations. Hosts Cameroon qualified by virtue of reaching the Semi-Finals of the 2021 Women's AfroBasket held in Yaounde.

Marlene Ngobeleza led DR Congo with 26 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals with an efficiency rating of 38.
Forward Deborah Kaba Mayiwona recorded 15 points and 7 rebounds; Ketia Mbelu also poured in 15 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists; Feza Ebengo Isomi contributed 13 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals while Grace Basiki Mputu added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 9 steals in the winning cause.
A joyous Feza told FIBA.basketball they are happy to have qualified for this year's Women's AfroBasket after missing out of the last edition.
"It's a great feeling that we qualify for the 2023 AfroBasket for Women to be staged in Kigali, Rwanda this year, we came with a set objective to qualify for the Afrobasket because we believe that is where we belong," she concluded.
