    Final rosters confirmed for the 2023 FIBA Women's AfroBasket

    KIGALI (Rwanda) - The final 12-player rosters are locked in ahead of the start of the 2023 FIBA Women's AfroBasket on Friday, July 28. 

     

    KIGALI (Rwanda) - The final 12-player rosters are locked in ahead of the start of the 2023 FIBA Women's AfroBasket on Friday, July 28. 

    The tournament starts finishes on Saturday, August 5 with all 28 games being played at BK Arena in the Rwandan capital city of Rwanda.

    Group A: ANGOLACOTE D'IVOIRE, RWANDA
    Group B: CAMEROON, GUINEA, MOZAMBIQUE
    Group C: MALI, SENEGAL, UGANDA
    Group D: DR CONGO, EGYPT, NIGERIA

    The first game of the tournament will see reigning champions Nigeria taking on the Democratic Republic of Congo. 

    COMPETITION SYSTEM - Teams are divided into four groups of three teams each. The teams that finish in the first places of Groups A, B, C and D, qualify directly to the Quarter-Finals.

    The teams that finish in second and third places of each group will have a second chance to remain in competition by playing the Qualification Round to the Quarter-Finals, where the losing teams will be eliminated. 

    The losing teams of the Quarter-Finals will compete for the Fifth to Eight-Place in the Classification Round.
