    Guinea qualify for FIBA Women's AfroBasket 2017 as Cape Verde pull out of regional Qualifiers

    CONAKRY (FIBA Women's AfroBasket 2017) - Guinea became the ninth national team to qualify for this year's 12-team FIBA Women's AfroBasket in Mali.

    CONAKRY (FIBA Women's AfroBasket 2017) - Guinea became the ninth national team to qualify for this year's 12-team FIBA Women's AfroBasket in Mali. 

    The West African side secured their place at FIBA Africa's women basketball showpiece following Cape Verde's withdrawal from the regional qualifier.

    It will be Guinea's second straight appearance after earning a 3-4 record at FIBA Women's AfroBasket in Yaounde, Cameroon two years ago.

    They join Senegal, Cameroon, Nigeria, Angola, Mali, Mozambique, Egypt and Tunisia. 

    The FIBA Women's AfroBasket 2017 will take place in Bamako, Mali from September 15-24, and the draw will take place on May 27 in Bamako, Mali.
