BANGUI (FIBA Women's AfroBasket 2017) - The Central African Republic (CAF) have kept the entire team from last June's regional qualifiers against the Democratic Republic of Congo for the FIBA Women's AfroBasket 2017 preparations.
According to the preliminary squad sent to FIBA Africa, CAF who benefited from a wild card to partake in the continent's most important women's basketball event, have added seven new faces.

Despite beating the DR Congo in the last of the two-game regional qualifiers, CAF lost the series 117-109 on aggregate.
Now, Rodrigue Toka Keressenlet's side will look to overcome Mali, Cameroon, Tunisia, Cote d'Ivoire and Angola in Group A of the FIBA Women's AfroBasket 2017 in Mali, which runs from August 18-27.
Meanwhile, in Bangui, they test their competitiveness against local boys teams.
The finalists in Bamako will represent Africa at FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2018 in Spain.
