LUANDA, Angola (FIBA Africa Women's Champions Cup 2017) - Angolan side Primeiro de Agosto claim their third FIBA Africa Women’s Champions Cup title after beating Ferroviario de Maputo 65-51 in Sunday's Final in the Angolan capital city of Luanda.
Mozambican ace Leia Dongue led the floor with game highs of 23 points and 10 rebounds in the winning cause.
On the other side Odelia Mafanela prove crucial for Ferroviario as she dropped team-highs of 14 points and seven rebounds but it was not enough to seal the victory for their side.
Earlier in the day, First Bank claimed the last spot on the podium, after knocking off reigning African champions InterClube, 70-61, in the 3rd-Place Game.
Primeiro de Agosto center Alicia DeVaughn was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player, headlining the All-Star Five, where she was joined by Dominique Wilson(First Bank), Italee Lucas(InterClube), Leia Dongue (Primeiro de Agosto) and Veronica Gisela Vega (Ferroviario de Maputo).
