DAKAR (Senegal) - Day three of the 2024 Women's Basketball League Africa (WBLA) witnessed two upsets in Group B with favourite in Group A carrying the day.
But, who shone the brightest on the third day of play? Here is what we found out:
Kamite Elisabeth Dabou
The ASC Ville de Dakar's 20-year-old forward registered the highest efficiency in the competition so far, at 34, in the side's 81-50 win over MFM Queens.
The Malian international player bagged a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds, adding six assists, a steal and a block to lead the hosts to a 2-0 run.
She was the side's top performer for the second game in a row.
Bintou Drame
Another Malian that grabbed the headlines in Sunday's WBLA games was Bintou Drame.
The point guard put in a proper shift against the defending champions Alexandria Sporting Club (ASC) to lead DR Congo's CNSS to a 61-59 show, the second upset of the day in Group B.
Drame shot 6-of-17 on field-goals, missing just once from the free-throw line for seven more points to finish with 21.
She came two rebounds shy of a double-double, adding an assist and a block for 18 rating in efficiency.
Kevine Wa Kabongo
The Congolese center did not miss a single shot in the paint, scoring ten in just under 20 minutes off the bench in CNSS's clutch win over holders ASC.
Of her eight rebounds, the last one was a game-winner as she pounced on the loose ball following a Hala Elshaarawy missed layup with three seconds on the clock to deny the back-to-back champions.
The 1.94m (6ft 4in) Wa Kabongo, who turns 22 on Wednesday, December 11, added three steals to complete her stellar performance.
