    Who shone the brightest on the third day of play?

    Three days into the 2024 WBLA, and we start to get to know who the tournament's stars are.

    DAKAR (Senegal) - Day three of the 2024 Women's Basketball League Africa (WBLA) witnessed two upsets in Group B with favourite in Group A carrying the day.

    But, who shone the brightest on the third day of play? Here is what we found out:

    The ASC Ville de Dakar's 20-year-old forward registered the highest efficiency in the competition so far, at 34, in the side's 81-50 win over MFM Queens.

    The Malian international player bagged a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds, adding six assists, a steal and a block to lead the hosts to a 2-0 run.

    She was the side's top performer for the second game in a row.

    Another Malian that grabbed the headlines in Sunday's WBLA games was Bintou Drame.

    The point guard put in a proper shift against the defending champions Alexandria Sporting Club (ASC) to lead DR Congo's CNSS to a 61-59 show, the second upset of the day in Group B.

    Drame shot 6-of-17 on field-goals, missing just once from the free-throw line for seven more points to finish with 21.

    She came two rebounds shy of a double-double, adding an assist and a block for 18 rating in efficiency.

    Kevine Wa Kabongo

    Kevine Wa Kabongo

    The Congolese center did not miss a single shot in the paint, scoring ten in just under 20 minutes off the bench in CNSS's clutch win over holders ASC.

    Of her eight rebounds, the last one was a game-winner as she pounced on the loose ball following a Hala Elshaarawy missed layup with three seconds on the clock to deny the back-to-back champions.

    The 1.94m (6ft 4in) Wa Kabongo, who turns 22 on Wednesday, December 11, added three steals to complete her stellar performance.

    Two days after celebrating her 25th birthday put on a basketball clinic.

    The Ivorian power forward's contributed a double-double of 10 points and as many rebounds; she added 2 blocks in 34.47 minutes, before she fouled out, propelled Friends Basketball Association (FBA) to a 63-55 upset against star-studded APR from Rwanda.

    She finished with 14 in efficiency.

    Breanna Richardson

    The American center, turning out for Al Ahly SC, scored 13 points while pulling eight boards to finish with 19 in efficiency as the Egyptians beat FAP 89-63.

    Richardson completed her job in just 19:45 minutes.
