    Ittihad Al Ahli of Aleppo and Al Karamah withdraw from West Asia Super League (WASL)

    FIBA Regional Office Asia has approved the withdrawal of Syria’s two clubs, Ittihad Al Ahli of Aleppo and Al Karamah, from West Asia Super League (WASL).

    BEIRUT (Lebanon) - FIBA Regional Office Asia has approved the withdrawal of Syria’s two clubs, Ittihad Al Ahli of Aleppo and Al Karamah, from West Asia Super League (WASL) as a result of the 6th of February 2023 earthquake's consequences.

    The areas in Syria affected by this catastrophe were home to the aforementioned two clubs and were declared disaster zones as a result of the massive destruction caused by the earthquake.

    Consequently, the results of all games played by these two clubs in their respective groups will be nullified as per article D.3.3 in the FIBA Official Basketball Rules.
