Al Bashaer's Aaron Clyde Parks nails WASL's memorable first points

MUSCAT (Oman) - Aaron Clyde Parks earned his place in West Asia Super League lore by scoring the competition's first bucket.

MUSCAT (Oman) - Aaron Clyde Parks made history as the inaugural FIBA West Asia Super League (WASL) season finally commenced, Monday night.

The 28-year-old guard is the first player to score the newly-founded pan-regional competition's first bucket as his Al Bashaer and Shabab Al Ahli-Dubai opened the tournament at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat.

It didn't take long for the league to witness its first points as Parks swished in a pull-up jumper from the elbow 14 seconds into the match (9:46).

The Al Bashaer-Shabab Al Ahli clash serves as the opening salvo of a double header affair offered by WASL in its first-ever gameday.

Later in the night, Al Hilal battles Kazma in another inter-Gulf League battle at the latter's stomping grounds in Green Basketball Court in Riyadh.
