    Dubai to host the inaugural FIBA West Asia Super League Final 8

    BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The inaugural FIBA West Asia Super League (WASL) Final 8 is confirmed to be hosted in Dubai, UAE as confirmed by FIBA Regional Office - Asia.

    BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The inaugural FIBA West Asia Super League (WASL) Final 8 is headed to Dubai.

    The Emirati city will serve as host of the highly awaited pinnacle event of the West Asia Super League from June 9 to 17 following the agreement between FIBA Regional Office Asia, UAE Basketball Association, and Shabab Al Ahli - Dubai

    Shabab Al Ahli - Dubai are one of the eight teams set to see action in the tilt featuring the top professional clubs from the Gulf, West, Central, and South Asia Sub-Zones.

     

    Six teams from the FIBA WASL Sub-Zone Leagues make up the Final 8. Champions Kuwait Club spearhead the Gulf delegation that also has Manama as well as the host club, Shabab Al Ahli. The West Asia ensemble, meanwhile, features champions Al Riyadi, Gorgan, and Beirut First Club.

    All six will be joined by Kazakhstan champions BC Astana and the champion team of India.

    The Final 8 teams will be divided into two groups of four teams each, with the two best squads in each group advancing to the Semi-Finals. The third and fourth placers of each group by the end of the Group Phase, meanwhile, will be eliminated.

    Victors of the Semi-Finals will then figure in a winner-take-all Final to earn the distinction of becoming the first-ever WASL champions.
