Wemby was the best young player in the Olympic tournament

Wemby is only 20. The present is already brilliant, but the future is his.

PARIS (France) - With the weight of the nation on his young shoulders, Victor Wembanyama delivered a magnificent tournament. Even though he's still a 20-year-old, he took it upon himself to lead this team, and brought the host nation another major medal.

This time, it was silver, falling just short to the United States in the gold medal game. Victor was simply sensational in the Final, getting 26 points and 7 rebounds, making 11-of-19 shots from the field, including three three-pointers.

Over the course of the tournament he averaged 15.8 points, 9.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and an efficiency rating of 20.8.

For all his heroics, he earned the FIBA Rising Star award at the Paris 2024 Olympics, being the best young player of the event.
