MONTEVIDEO (Oscar Moglia Cup | FIBA Americas Championship) - After three losing three consecutive games to Argentina and Argentina B, Venezuela coach Eric Musselman seems to have found the way to beat Uruguay, the other River Plate team.

Heissler Guillen scored 17 and Greivis Vasquez added 14 and four assists as Venezuela beat the host team 83-74 at the Oscar Moglia Cup, in Montevideo.

With only seven days before tips off, Héctor Romero is still doubtful for the FIBA Americas as he is still recovering from a knee surgery.

The first clash between them was also won by Venezuela 86-79 in Córdoba, Argentina.

Former NBA Esteban Batista was the game's top scorer, claiming 22 points and 15 rebounds. His teammate Leandro García Morales contributed 17 points. Mauricio Aguiar, who had a team-high 17 points in Uruguay's win over Cuba on Monday, did not enter the game.

Venezuela had to recover from a heavy loss to Argentina's second team, which is preparing for the Guadalajara Pan-American Games, in October.

Argentina B also defeated winless Cuba 84-54.

Uruguay (1-1) will play Argentina B (2-0), while Venezuela (1-1) will face Cuba (0-2) on Wednesday.
