Van2017 Pacific Mini Games 3x3 teams announced
VANUATU – With the Van2017 Pacific Mini Games 3x3 event just over a month away, the final list of countries participating in the competition have been announced.
VANUATU – With the Van2017 Pacific Mini Games 3x3 event just over a month away, the final list of countries participating in the competition have been announced.
"The Pacific Games Council is delighted to welcome the exciting and innovative 3x3 format to the Pacific Games for the first time," commented Pacific Games Council Executive Director Andrew Minogue. "We thank FIBA Oceania, VASANOC and VAN2017 for making this a reality for the region’s Basketballers at short notice."
The 3x3 event will take place on Monday, December 11th to Thursday, December 14th of this year. There will be two full days (Monday & Tuesday) and two half days (Wednesday & Thursday) of competition.
FIBA in Oceania Development Manager, Annie La Fleur will be on the ground in Vanuatu during the event to assist the Vanuatu basketball Federation and Pacific Games Council run the event.
“I am very excited about the inclusion of 3x3 at the Mini Games and look forward to seeing your teams in Vanuatu,” said La Fleur. “This is another great opportunity for our Oceania federations to participate in an international 3x3 event and I think this will help the development of our 3x3 teams for the future.”
With its inclusion in the 2020 Olympic Games, 3x3 basketball is becoming a worldwide sensation, countries big and small are getting involved in 3x3.

The winner of this event will be crowned the inaugural Pacific Mini Games 3x3 Champion.
