LAS VEGAS (FIBA Americas Championship for Men) – FIBA Americas, in cooperation with the USA Basketball, hosted today in Las Vegas the draw for the 2007 FIBA Americas Championship for Men.
The FIBA Americas Championship for Men will be played from August 22th to 2th September 2007 in Las Vegas, USA with 10 teams from Americas zone.
The President of FIBA Americas, Mr. Julio Subero, was in the event along with FIBA Americas Secretary General, Mr. Alberto Garcia.
The countries represented were Uruguay by Hugo Couto, Argentina by German Vaccaro, Hector Reyes of Puerto Rico, German Blanco of Venezuela and Jim Tooley of USA Basketball.
During the event FIBA Americas honored Jose "Piculin" Ortiz (Puerto Rico), Marcelo Milanesio (Argentina), Horacio López (Uruguay), Carl Herrera (Venezuela) and Clyde Drexler of the United States.

With participation from ten (10) teams and completely in accordance with the current FIBA Game Rules, the tournament shall be disputed in three phases.
