EDMONTON (Canada) - MVP Strahinja Stojacic scored 10 points as Ub Huishan NE (SRB) continued their domination of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour 2023 season after claiming the Edmonton Masters on July 29.

EDMONTON (Canada) - MVP Strahinja Stojacic scored 10 points in the final as Ub Huishan NE (SRB) continued their domination of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour 2023 season after claiming the first-ever Edmonton Masters on July 29.

The No.1 seeds won a record fifth straight Masters title to start the season when they beat San Juan 19-12 in the final.  Top-ranked player Stojacic splashed from downtown in an ominous start but San Juan hung in to keep it close.  Luis Cuascut drained a two then unleashed a one-handed dunk to give San Juan a 7-6 lead.

This compelling final went into overdrive when Antonio Ralat hit a tough layup before Dejan Majstorovic answered with a splash from deep. But once again, Ub proved too good in the clutch with Stojacic sealing the result with a two.

Stojacic won his third Masters MVP this season after finishing top in player value (42) and overall scoring (40).

In the individual contests, Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy's Steve Sir won the William Huff Shoot-Out Contest, while Dominic Gonzales claimed the City of Edmonton and Explore Edmonton Dunk Contest.

Exciting, urban and innovative, 3x3 is inspired by several forms of streetball played worldwide and is considered the world’s number one urban team sport. Steered by FIBA, games see two teams of three players face off on a basketball half-court.

It was played successfully for the first time in international competition at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore and since then has benefited from the launch of a yearly professional circuit for men and women (World Tour and Women’s Series respectively) and national-team competitions.

3x3 made its Olympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Games.
