    Here is the U17 WC All-Second Team

    The FIBA U17 World Cup 2024 awarded extra honors for the All-Second Team as well as Best Defensive Player and Best Coach.

    ISTANBUL (Türkiye) - For the second consecutive global youth competition, extra awards were given out for the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2024, including the Best Defensive Player, Best Coach, and U17 World Cup 2024 All-Second Team.

    The All-Second Team included Koa Peat and Tyran Stokes of United States, Diego Garavaglia from Italy, Türkiye's Derin Can Ustun and Arturas Butajevas of Lithuania.

    Peat made history in the event by becoming the first player with two U17 World Cup crowns as he was part of the 2022 team. For the 2024 edition, Peat had 17.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.9 steals. Stokes averaged 12.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.1 blocks in the tournament.

    Garavaglia was a major part of Italy winning second place with 12.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.7 steals and 2.0 blocks.

    Ustun was a leader for Türkiye the whole tournament with 13.1 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.0 steals in helping the hosts to third place.

    Butajevas averaged 14.4 points, 11.3 rebounds, 1.4 blocks and 1.3 assists as the Baltic side took fifth place.

    Brandon McCoy was a force defensively

    Brandon McCoy of USA was named the Best Defensive Player as he averaged 10.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.4 steals for the Americans in less than 17 minutes per game. McCoy's steals per 40 minutes average was 8.0.

    Giuseppe Mangone guided Italy to a historic second place

    The Best Coach award went to Giuseppe Mangone of second-placed finishers Italy, who guided his team to their first-ever U17 World Cup medals after having lost the first two games of the competition.
