LIBREVILLE (AfroBasket Women 2015) - Gabon's Basketball Federation has called up 24 players for the women's national team's training camp in preparation for AfroBasket Women 2015.

France-based Geraldine Robert Yema - who played a crucial role at the FIBA Africa Group G qualifiers in March - headlines the group, which will get together from 20 July-14 August.

Robert averaged 22.7 points and 13.5 rebounds and was elected MVP of the three-team qualification tournament held in Gabon's capital of Libreville.

Other foreign-based players in the list of 24 include: Grace Mbaikoua, who plays for BCTM in France's Division 3; Blevie Meyia Lucchesi, who plays college basketball with South Plains-College in the USA; Vanessa Ngouenya, a member of Immigration of Nigeria; and Mireille Mungendi former member of the WNBA's Tulsa Shock.

If she joins the team, Mungedi - a 2.03m center selected with the 25th pick in last month's 2015 WNBA Draft - could be a great asset for Gabon, in the country's return to Africa's leading women's basketball tournament following a 10-year absence.

Gabon's entire preparations will be held in Serbia and get them ready not just for AfroBasket Women 2015 - taking place in Yaounde, Cameroon from 24 September-3 October - but also for the 11th All Africa Games in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo (4-19 September).

Gabon have been drawn in AfroBasket Women's Group A, alongside hosts Cameroon, Mozambique, South Africa, Uganda and Mali

The 12-team tournament serves as qualifier for the 2016 Rio Games. The champions in Yaounde will secure automatic qualification for next year's Olympics, while the teams ranked second and third will participate in the 12-team 2016 FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament (WOQT).
