TUR/CAN - Canada dominates Turkey

RODEZ (FIBA U17 World Championship for Women) - Canada proved too much for Turkey to handle as they recorded an 82-73 win in front of a lively crowd at the Amphitheatre.

Nirra Fields finished with 25 points and nine rebounds for Canada, who started pulling away for good towards the end of the second quarter.

The Canadians led 37-24 at halftime and held their opponents to just 27 percent shooting (six of 35 shooting from the field) over the course of the first two quarters, leaving them with a tough task.

The Turks improved quite a bit offensively after the break, but at the other end of the court still had no answer for the Canadians who played patiently and had great execution.
