Top seed Mongolia look to thrill home fans at FIBA 3x3 Women's Series Ulaanbaatar Stop 2024

ULAANBAATAR (Mongolia) - No.1 seed Mongolia (MGL) will be determined to put on a show in front of their passionate home fans at the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series Ulaanbaatar Stop.

ULAANBAATAR (Mongolia) - Boasting a couple of Asia Cup heroes, No.1 seed Mongolia (MGL) will be determined to put on a show in front of their passionate home fans at the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series Ulaanbaatar Stop on June 6-7.

Let's take a closer look at the fourth Women's Series event of 2024.

    The Favorites

We just have to start with Mongolia, who have top billing for a reason. The top seed have aura after Khulan Onolbaatar and Ariuntsetseg Bat-Erdene helped inspire Mongolia to an emotional bronze medal at the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2024.

The 23-year-old Bat-Erdene made the Team of the Tournament in Singapore to prove that she's an emerging superstar. She will be eyeing the MVP in Ulaanbaatar, but she'll have to battle plenty of stars.

Towering Oksana Mollova will enter red hot after hitting bucket after bucket at the Marseille Stop, where Ukraine showed glimpses of brilliance and they just have to be rated as a contender.

Rattiyakorn Udomsuk was on a heater during the Asia Cup to lead Thailand to a quarter-final run. The highly talented 24-year-old looms as one of the very best players in Ulaanbaatar and if she gets hot then Thailand can run away with the title.

We just have to rate the Philippines as a title threat because they showcased moments of magic during their quarter-final run at the Asia Cup. Kaye Pingol will quickly be a fan favorite after she unleashes her insane handles, which always make fools of opponents.

    The Field

Austria are most certainly a dark horse. Why are we so confident? Because Rebekka Kalaydjiev can splash from anywhere on the half-court and if she gets going then Austria can go deep.

There are a trio of youthful teams who represent the New Gen for their countries.

Austria U23 will be led by athletic marvel Natalie Kalaydjiev, who has dominated at the youth level and she's ready to successfully make the jump to the next level.

Highly talented Enkhtuul Bazargurev has been lighting up local competitions and she's pumped up to take Mongolia U23 on a giant-killing run in front of their 3x3 crazy fans.

Last but certainly not least is China U24 armed with emerging superstar  Mengjie Wu, who will be aiming to once again dominate the paint.
