Top players to watch at FIBA 3x3 World Tour Wuxi 2024

WUXI (China) - There is no time to breathe because the show continues on the FIBA 3x3 World Tour 2024 with some of the best players on the planet gearing up for Wuxi on October 1-2.

WUXI (China) - There is no time to breathe because the show continues on the FIBA 3x3 World Tour 2024 with some of the best players on the planet gearing up for Wuxi on October 1-2.

Here are the top players to watch.

    Strahinja Stojacic (Ub Huishan NE)

Watch out because 'Doctor Strange' is raring to go after missing the stop in Shanghai.  The Serb superstar will be needed to spark Ub Huishan NE (SRB), who were the walking wounded by the end of their semi-final run in Shanghai.

Stojacic had a tough first half of 2024, where he lost the No.1 ranking but he's regained the crown after scorching hot form. He won MVP in Debrecen and keeps collecting the titles having helped Ub win a pro circuit title in Podgorica just last week.

After a bruising stop in Shanghai, Ub's spirit will be revitalized when they see 'Doctor Strange' explode to the rim in trademark style.

He'll team up with legendary brother Stefan Stojacic - with only possibly Chongming's (CHN) superhero duo Karlis Lasmanis and Nauris Miezis being able to boast as much critical acclaim.

    Quincy Diggs (Vienna)

Vienna suffered a major blow in Shanghai when superstar Nico Kaltenbrunner was unable to play due to a knee injury forcing them to play with three players.

Kaltenbrunner will not play in Wuxi, but Vienna have a perfect replacement in scoring machine Quincy Diggs. This dude is lights out and raring to go having not played on the World Tour since Vienna's runner-up finish in Edmonton

The former No.1 American player has not been at his electric best in 2024, but Diggs is ready to return to form in style in Wuxi.

    Stefan Milivojevic (Partizan Meta Force)

Another star not in Shanghai was this 3x3 Gladiator, who is averaging 5.8 ppg on the World Tour this season and is the barometer for dangerous Partizan Meta Force (SRB).

This muscular Serb had his best performance in Almaty, where he finished second in points and player-value and it's no surprise that Partizan fed off that with a semi-final finish.

Ranked fifth on the world rankings, Milivojevic's lofty status is deserved because this dude has cold-blooded instincts in the clutch that just can't be taught in school.

He has his sights set on Wuxi and, particularly, we can't wait to see his battle with Lausanne (SUI) big fella Westher Molteni in what will be a test of strength.

    Dennis Donkor (Riffa)

Few players have earned the MVP like Dennis Donkor did in Shanghai. He has played his heart out all year even when Riffa (BRN) were in an early season form slump.

As the heart and soul of the team, Donkor has never wavered and his passion has kept Riffa afloat through the difficult times. Their confidence slowly rebuilt before it all came together during a magical run in Shanghai, where Donkor was at his brilliant two-way best.

He finished No.1 in player-value (42.9) and points (34), but Donkor is just getting warmed up as he eyes back-to-back MVPs. He'll start with a major test against Amsterdam (NED), where Donkor will go toe-to-toe with Dutch Master Maarten Bouwknecht.

    ...

    Stefan Kojic (Liman)

It's been a tough World Tour season for legendary Liman (SRB), who keep getting bounced out at the quarters like in Shanghai.

They've relied heavily on sniper Stefan Kojic, who has been able to handle the burden with an insane average of 7.3 ppg - the second highest behind superstar Worthy de Jong for those who have played more than 10 games.

If Chef Kojic can get some more help then Liman have a strong title case because you just know this bucket getter will continue to have the shooter's touch.

    Dulguun Enkhbat (Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy)

Ulaanbaatar had a strong semi-final campaign in Shanghai, where their two-way beast was an absolute tour de force.

Enkhbat once again showed he can drop buckets with the very best of them after finishing second in scoring in Shanghai.

It's unfair for opponents because he can do it all on the half-court with this slick Mongolian a fiery competitor behind his movie star good looks.

Ulaanbaatar are starting a monstrous schedule - you'll be seeing a lot of these dudes in the coming months - but you just know Enkhbat will be able to handle the load because he's a 3x3 machine.

    Henry Caruso (Princeton)

There are several dudes in Wuxi right on the cusp of superstardom. We're looking at a walking bucket like Dusseldorf's Leon Fertig, who is more than capable of having a true World Tour breakout.

And the same goes for Henry Caruso, who can explode to the rim like he's jumping on a trampoline. The New Gen of iconic Princeton (USA) have yet to taste the ultimate success on the World Tour despite teasing at times like in Shanghai.

If excitement machine Caruso can get it all together then Princeton might just earn a dub on this season's World Tour.
