    Tissot cements status as the premier timing brand in basketball

    LE LOCLE - FIBA partner Tissot have underlined their status as the most renowned timekeeper in basketball after adding to their ever-increasing and impressive portfolio of international sports and sporting event partnerships.

    The Swiss watch-maker and timing specialists, who signed an agreement with FIBA back in 2008, have continued to enhance their reputation for quality and reliability with a number of major deals which has seen the company become basketball’s number one timekeeper.

    With French star Tony Parker having been installed as one of the leading brand ambassadors, Tissot recently sealed a ground-breaking global partnership to become the first official timekeeper of the National Basketball Association (NBA), the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) and the NBA Development League (NBA D-League).

    It not only heralded a first ever partnership for Tissot with a major North American sports league, but it was also the largest in the company’s history which spans over 160 years.

    A member of the Swatch Group - the world's largest watch producer and distributor - Tissot is to work with the NBA to develop a state-of-the-art integrated timing system.

    The new precision timekeeping system, inclusive of Tissot-branded shot clocks, will be implemented across all 29 NBA arenas for the 2016-17 season.

    Tissot have received global league licensing rights for timepieces, watches, clocks, and watch accessories for all NBA teams. They will also make investments across all NBA teams and league broadcast partner – as well as partnering on a global basis through events, marketing, media, and the launch new NBA-themed creative and advertising.

    Further bolstering their reputation within basketball and the sporting market, Tissot have also recently agreed to become the official timekeeper of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) for the next five years.

    Tissot will provide services up to and including the 2019-20 season.
