MIES (Switzerland) - First week of the Quarter-Finals in the 2024-25 Basketball Champions League season is in the books, and now that we've digested Wednesday's action, Thursday brings us a chance to reflect on the best individual performances.
The 19th Team of the Week this season consists of Will Cummings (Galatasaray), Hunter Hale (AEK Betsson BC), Melvin Ejim (Unicaja), Kyle Weems (Bertram Derthona Basket) and Giorgi Shermadini (La Laguna Tenerife).
Cummings set his BCL career-high to help Galatasaray steal the home court advantage, blowing out ERA Nymburk on the road.
Hale had 16 points in the first half alone for AEK Betsson BC, and Nanterre 92's defense could not find a solution for the lefty guard in the closing stages of the game, when his clutch shots sent the black-and-yellow to 1-0.
Unicaja have proven time and time again that their bench unit is impressive, and Melvin Ejim jumped out of nowhere to have his finest moment of the season in a big win over Pallacanestro Reggiana.
With only four games in the books, Team of the Week also features a player from a losing side. Weems' heroics nearly helped Bertram Derthona Basket stun La Laguna Tenerife in Spain.
However, Tenerife have their big guy to thank, as Shermadini once again was the best guy in the middle, taking the center spot in the Team of the Week.
