    Brazil win South American Classic against Argentina, will play for Gold

    CARACAS (South American Championship) – Brazil defeated long-time rival Argentina, 88-82, and qualified to the Final of the 2016 South American Championship.

    • Turning Point: Argentina and Brazil exchanged the lead throughout the start of the fourth quarter, and with three-minutes to go, Argentina had a three-point lead. Olivinha responded from three-point land and the scoreboard was tie again. Brazil created a run and went ahead, but Argentina once again cut the lead to two points. Jefferson scored from mid-distance and the difference went back to 86-82. Argentina couldn’t score and Brazil kept adding to take the win.

    • Stats don’t lie: Brazil shot for a 51% from the field.

    • Game Hero: Fulvio was the best scorer for the Brazilians with 19 points.

    • The Bottom Line: Brazil will play for the Gold Medal of the 2016 South American Championship against the winner of the Semi-Final between Venezuela and Uruguay.
