    Key games, dates now determined

    BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The FIBA West Asia Super League (FIBA WASL) 2024/2025 season is all set as the Sub-Zone Leagues' Group Phase schedule has been confirmed.

    The third edition of the pan-regional contest is set to start on October 21 with Gulf League action, with the sub-zone's defending champions Kuwait Club serving as the welcoming committee to the debuting Al Ahli Club in Kuwait City.

    The West Asia League, meanwhile, will tip-off on December 4 with a meeting between the 2023/2024 FIBA WASL runners-up Sagesse and newcomer Tabiat in Tehran, Iran.

    The tip-off date of the West Asia League was rescheduled to the said date due to the current severe security situation in some West Asia countries.

    A total of 14 teams will take part in the upcoming 2024/2025 season - 8 in the Gulf League, and 6 in the West Asia League.

    The top teams from each group the end of the double round-robin Group Phase will earn outright berths to the best-of-3 Semi-Finals.

    The second and third-ranked teams, meanwhile, will have to go through the cross-over Qualification to Semi-Finals, which is also a best-of-3.

    The top 3 teams from both West Asia and Gulf Leagues will qualify for the FIBA WASL Final 8, and will be joined by the champions of South and Central Asia.
