BANGKOK (Thailand) - Buckle up because 3x3's No.1 men's player Strahinja Stojacic is itching to kick-start 2025 with a bang as he headlines a loaded Serbia line-up at the new FIBA 3x3 Champions Cup on March 14-15.
After his status as 3x3's undisputed top dog was taken by rival Worthy de Jong late last season, Stojacic aka 'Doctor Strange' is ready to show the world that the half-court is his multiverse.
He will have plenty of help in Bangkok with Serbia unveiling a team chock full of stars as they tap into their enviable depth of talent.
Joining Stojacic is his Ub Huishan NE partner-in-crime Marko Brankovic, who was part of Serbia's triumph at the World Cup 2023. Serbia are adding some new faces on the big stage, but you know these dudes already.
Stefan Milivojevic has been one of the most exciting players on the World Tour with his explosiveness and high-flying exploits making him a fan favorite. The 3x3 Gladiator will be wearing the Serbia colors for the first time and you just know he'll have plenty in store for his international debut.
And it is also a Serbia debut for big fella Nenad Nerandzic, who has patrolled the paint for years with Ub and he's a former World Tour MVP.
Serbia are looking to make amends after a tough 2024, where they endured plenty of heartbreak especially at the Paris Olympics.
They will have a formidable collection of players, but there are plenty of other deep squads.
USA will boast Andrew Kelly and Henry Caruso, who will have a chance to develop chemistry before they play together for a remade Miami on the World Tour, while France are led by superstar Franck Seguela in a line-up with the same players that comprised powerhouse Paris last season.
De Jong is back for Netherlands, who have three Olympic gold medalists on their team, and Austria have the same entertaining team that memorably won last season's Europe Cup.
In the women's, Spain boast Olympic silver medalist Vega Gimeno while superstar Katherine Plouffe has been named for Canada and athletic marvel Anneli Maley returns for new-look Australia.
