BELGRADE (EuroBasket/FIBA Basketball World Cup) - There appears to be some light at the end of the tunnel at long last for Milos Teodosic and Serbia.

The country's starting point guard has been trying to recover from a calf injury that cut short his 2012-13 season with CSKA Moscow and has had his own training regime in Belgrade.

He has joined the team in practice and is hopeful of playing for the Blues at the EuroBasket in Slovenia.

"Honestly, I cannot predict anything, nor the doctors," he said, "it's a day-to-day situation but is getting better and I hope that in 10 days, I will be ready, although we cannot predict that."

Teodosic, who gave an interview to b92.net, added: "It is reasonable to go to Slovenia.

"How much I'd be able to contribute to the team, I do not know at this time.

"I have a huge desire to be there with them, whether it be for 10 minutes or 15, I do not know really, but I would not like to make any predictions.

"I would love to play in Slovenia and I hope to be there."

Serbia could sure use Teodosic, an all-tournament selection at both EuroBasket 2009 and the 2010 FIBA World Championship.

They are to play in an extremely difficult Group B with Montenegro, Lithuania, Latvia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (MKD).

Only the top six sides at the 24-team EuroBasket will clinch places for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup (top seven if Spain are in the first six).

    The EuroBasket begins 4 September.
