    Somalia call on basketball family to come together

    MOGADISHU - Somali Basketball Federation (SBF) last month held its annual General Assembly in the capital city of Mogadishu, and it approved a number of measures aiming to re-establish its functions.

    MOGADISHU - Somali Basketball Federation (SBF) last month held its annual General Assembly in the capital city of Mogadishu, and it approved a number of measures aiming to re-establish its functions.

    In the presence of local clubs, referees, coaching committees and basketball shareholders, SBF Chairman Mohamed Adani Abdulahi reaffirmed the need of bringing the Somali Basketball family together and announced that the country's Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khayre accepted to be an honorable member of the Somalia Basketball Federation.

    Nevertheless, one of the General Assembly highlights was the restructuring of the SBF Executive Committee, which gives the SBF Chairman powers to appoint the institution's Assistant secretaries general and treasure under its New Article 32. 

    According to a Press Release, the document was approved by a majority of 13 members against one. 

    The General Assembly also announced it plans to organize Coaching Level 1 courses while it kept a four-year term for the Federation chairmanship mandate. 

    The annual SBF General Assembly approved its meeting for February 25, 2019, in the capital city of Mogadishu.
