BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The FIBA Regional Office-Asia has confirmed the schedule of the 2024/2025 FIBA WASL-Gulf League Semi-Finals on Tuesday, March 4.
Twice WASL Gulf League runners-up Manama Club of Bahrain will take on UAE’s Shabab Al Ahli in the first of the best-of-three Semi-Finals that will be played on a home-away basis.
Manama, who incidentally went on win the FIBA WASL Final 8 in its inaugural year, defeated fellow Bahraini outfit Al Ahli Club in the third of the best-of-three Qualification to Semi-Finals game on Monday night.
Shabab Al Ahli had earned a direct entry into the Semi-Finals by virtue of finishing on top of Group A in the Preliminary Phase.
The other Semi-Finals also a best-of-three home-away affair will feature Al Qadsia of Kuwait who landed a direct Final Four spot after topping Group B against Saudi Arabia’s Ittihad.
Ittihad had swept through their Qualification to Semi-Final pairing against twice defending WASL Gulf League champions Kuwait Club.
The winners of the Semi-Finals will advance to the Final and qualify for the FIBA WASL Final 8, while the losing sides will face off for the remaining Final 8 spot in a knockout game.
