DEBRECEN (Hungary) - It's the final countdown with the regular season of the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series 2024 ending at the Debrecen Stop on August 24-25.
Let's take a deeper look at the last stop before next month's Hangzhou Final.
The Favorites
With the race heating up before Hangzhou, top seed Mongolia are currently 13th on the standings and desperate to make the Women Series' crown jewel event.
Their chances are high with Asia Cup bronze medalist Mongolia having already claimed a dub this season and they will be led by superstar Khulan Onolbaatar, who is keen to splash all over the half-court.
It won't be easy for Mongolia, with China U24 having been a consistent performer this season and they will showcase their powerhouse country's depth of talent.
Towering 20-year-old star Mengjie Wu has been unstoppable all season and will be eyeing the MVP.
Czechia have made the semis in their last three Stops, while Ukraine will mean business and they just have to be rated among the contenders having finished runner-up already at an event this season.
The Field
Freiburg (GER) loom as a dark horse contender and they ooze talent with young gun Pauline Marie Mayer set to become her famous 3x3 country's newest sensation.
Singapore have shown glimpses, especially as host of the Asia Cup, and this might be their breakthrough on the world stage. Their hopes might just rest on Choy Ting Tang being red-hot from all over the half-court.
Debrecen (HUN) will be hoping the loud local fans inspire them to new heights, while Logrono Central (ESP) could just go on a giant-killing run because Dutch great Natalie van den Adel returns to the half-court and she'll be fired up in new colors.
