SAN JUAN (Olympic Qualifying Tournament) - Don’t be surprised if veteran guard Larry Ayuso is back in the Puerto Rico squad when it travels to Venezuela for the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

The 34-year-old and Christian Dalmau were suspended from the national side after they left the team 11 days before the start of the 2010 FIBA World Championship in Turkey because of disputes.

Puerto Rico coach Flor Melendez rates Ayuso very highly.

"For me, Larry is one of the best Puerto Rican players right now," he said.

Ayuso was in the Puerto Rico side that stunned the United States on opening day of the 2004 Olympics and made a run to the Quarter-Finals.

Puerto Rico will play in Group A of the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Caracas, Venezuela, against Greece and Jordan.
