Princeton set the tone on Day 1 of FIBA 3x3 World Tour Debrecen Masters 2022

DEBRECEN (Hungary) - Princeton impressed on Day 1 of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Debrecen Masters 2022 in Debrecen, Hungary on August 27. 

THE TEAM

Long time no see! The last time we saw Princeton on The World Tour was at the Utsunomiya Opener back in May, when they lost the final against Ub Huishan NE. For 15 games, they were the only team who actually beat Ub (in the first game of the season).

For their World Tour return,  they defeated Antwerp 20-14 with Kareem Maddox leading the team with  9 points and then dominated London 21-9, with Isaiah Wilkerson stepping up with 7 points.



THE PLAYER

Evaldas Dziaugys! The 25-year-old led Marijampole Mantinga (LTU) to the quarter-finals after an 11-point, 5 rebounds and 5 highlights triple-five against Tartu in a win-or-go-home game, which went all the way to overtime (final score: 19-18).

THE STATS

Evaldas Dziaugys (Marijampole Mantinga - LTU) was the top scorer (18 points) and led everyone in Player Value on Day 1 (20.1)
Thibaut Vervoort (Antwerp - BEL) was once again Must-See TV with 13 highlights. 
Bryan De Valck (Antwerp - BEL)  dominated the paint and leads all players in rebounds with 15.
Amsterdam HiPro (NED) and Princeton (USA) had the best defense on Day 1. Both of them limited their opponents to just 12 points per game.
