Canada announce 16-player preliminary roster for Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament in Edmonton
Canada Basketball announced its 16-player preliminary list for the FIBA Women’s Olympic Pre-Qualifying Americas Tournament, to be played in Edmonton, Canada and Bahía Blanca, Argentina, from November 14-17
TORONTO (Canada) - Canada Basketball announced its 16-player preliminary list for the FIBA Women’s Olympic Pre-Qualifying Americas Tournament, to be played in Edmonton, Canada and Bahía Blanca, Argentina, from November 14-17.
"It’s always such an amazing experience when you get to have meaningful games played in Canada," said Lisa Thomaidis. “With our road to Tokyo going through Edmonton, we couldn’t ask for anything more. We are excited to showcase the team that we have put in place for these games and know that the quality of the competition and the athletes that will be on display will not disappoint.”

Canada will debut against Cuba on November 14. The Canadians will then face Puerto Rico on November 16 and the Dominican Republic on November 17. Meanwhile, Group B will feature the National Teams of Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, and the United States.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the FIBA Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament 2020.
