The Federation waited until this thursday for an answer from the player but the confirmed that he will not be able to come down on time to go with Panama to the FIBA World Championship in Japan. Pinnock was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA, and is waiting also for an opportunity to make the team for this year´s season.

His spot will be filled by Kevin Daley called the "flying cat" for his ability to dunk the ball, and which helped Panama qualify for the Preworld Basketball Championship in 2004. He did not participate in that tournament due to a contract with the Harlem Globetrotters. The Trotters have given permission this time to Daley to join his National Team for the FIBA World Championship.
