RIO DE JANEIRO (Rio 2016 Olympic Games) - The USA signed off on their Group B campaign in the Women's Olympic Basketball Tournament with a 105-62 win over China at the Deodoro Youth Arena in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday.

The five-time defending Olympic champions concluded the Group Phase with a 5-0 mark to top Group B and will face Japan in Tuesday's Quarter-Finals.

As for China, the loss dropped them to 1-4 and their slim chances of advancing to the Last Eight hinge on Senegal beating Serbia by at least 22 points and force a three-way which favours the Asian team.

Turning Point: Chen Xiaojia hit a three-pointer at the 9:08 mark of the first quarter for a 3-2 edge but China then went scoreless for the next 6 minutes and 40 seconds while the USA ran off 20 unanswered points and led 32-9 by the end of the period to set the tone of what was to come.

Stats Don't Lie: The USA dominated China across the board - fast-break points (42-2), points in the paint (68-24), bench points (47-16).

Hero: Britney Griner and Tina Charles were unstoppable in the paint, combining for 36 points on 18-of-24 shooting. Griner also grabbed 13 rebounds.

Bottom Line: The USA cruised through the Group Phase and look in fine form to take a sixth consecutive Olympic gold medal.
